Rady Children’s Hospital signs Mobile Supply Chain Software agreement with MHS

Rady Children’s Hospital signs Mobile Supply Chain Software agreement with MHS
Major pediatric institution to utilize four MHS supply chain software applications

(FAIRFIELD, CT) Management Health Solutions (“MHS”), a leading, independent provider of supply chain optimization solutions for hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide, announced that 401-bed Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, the state’s largest pediatric hospital, has signed an agreement for AtPar Inc. supply chain technology, an MHS product. The agreement includes the MHS Mobile Software distribution management applications CartCount, Receive, and Deliver and the MHS Mobile Supply Chain Software Warehouse Management Application Stock Issue.

Tim Worstell, Budget and Procurement Specialist for Rady Children’s, and Dave Graul, the hospital’s Director of Supply Chain Management, evaluated several competing systems before the MHS Mobile Supply Chain software applications were selected. "As we researched our options, it became apparent that MHS matched our needs better and proved to better align with the requirements of healthcare," Worstell said. "Our goal is to automate every process throughout the supply chain." They expect the automation capabilities of the MHS Mobile Supply Chain Software will have the biggest impact on the hospital’s supply chain. "A key benefit is automating the entire receiving process," said Graul. "The MHS system captures the receipt of all packages at the receiving dock, tracks those packages through the delivery process to the end-user and provides an archive of information for reference and management, supporting a paperless system. In general, we feel that MHS provides a mobile process that eliminates manual intervention, reduces errors and increases inventory accuracy."

"Through our mobile supply chain software applications Rady Children’s Hospital will begin to fully automate their distribution processes and their stat orders to gain efficiencies and reduced costs" said Kishore Bala, VP of Technology Strategy & Development at MHS.

Rady Children’s, which opened in 1954, is the only hospital in San Diego County dedicated solely to pediatric care and is the region’s designated pediatric trauma center serving an area which includes San Diego, Southern Riverside and Imperial counties through the main hospital and more than 30 satellite locations. A 154-bed Acute Care Pavilion, which opened in October, includes the Peckham Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the largest pediatric hematology/oncology program in San Diego and Imperial counties, a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Warren Family Surgical Center.
